Pan-Fried Cubed Steak with Gravy 🥩
Ingredients:
- 4 cubed steaks
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk or cream (optional for a creamier gravy)
Instructions:
1. Season and Dredge: Season the cubed steaks with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Dredge them in flour, shaking off the excess.

2. Sear the Steaks: Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the cubed steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, add a couple of tablespoons of flour (from dredging) and whisk it into the oil and steak drippings. Slowly add beef broth while whisking to create a smooth gravy. Add milk or cream for a richer gravy, if desired.
4. Simmer: Return the steaks to the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Cover and let the steaks simmer in the gravy for 15-20 minutes, or until tender.
5. Serve: Serve the cubed steaks with mashed potatoes or over rice, with the gravy poured on top.
